This is not only possible with the right furniture, the wall design also plays a crucial role. We show ten ideas how the walls in the bedroom can look to make you feel in good hands.

These 10 points should be considered when designing the bedroom.

1. Paint on the wall

Either when you move in you have to struggle with the strange color preferences of your previous tenant or the walls are simply white. Many like to abandon color in the bedroom. But it often seems a bit awkward and unimaginative.

Color is not the worst idea when designing walls in the bedroom. The only difference is that no bright and obtrusive colors may be used here. A shrill red, a gloomy black or a dazzling yellow are better off in other rooms, because they do not ensure that the body comes to rest.

Rather, muted colors such as cream or pastel tones are recommended in the bedroom. A light gray paintwork can also look good and, like the pastel tones, goes well with light furniture.

The tastes are of course always different. Even the Feng Shui doctrine is not only concerned with where a bed should be. The colors also play a decisive role in this Chinese theory of harmony. And this teaching says that it should not be too dark. It could cause depression and a bad mood. But lemon-yellow walls or those in neon colors don’t go well in the bedroom either.

Be careful, especially with photo wallpapers. A sunset photo over the sea from your vacation shines in the most beautiful and strongest orange tones. And yet that can quickly become too much after a short time. As with the choice of colors, restraint is the order of the day. How about the same photo just in black and white ? Or a mystical photo from the misty forest, where the sun only sends a few rays through the trees? Less is more so as not to be overwhelmed by the picture after a short time.

There are no limits to your own imagination.

But how do you get your own wall tattoo afterwards? If you think you are too inexperienced artistically, you have two options that everyone can manage.

The drawn image is scanned and beamed onto the wall on the computer via a projector. The size can be varied as desired, depending on how close you place the projector. Then the contours are simply drawn with a pencil directly on the wall in the bedroom and then completed later. No projector at hand? Someone in your circle of friends is sure to borrow it for a few hours. Otherwise, rental service providers can be found in almost every German city.

The alternative of putting your own wall tattoo on the wall goes like this: The scanned image is enlarged on the computer and printed out on many A4 sheets of paper. The contours of these are transferred to baking paper, which is then placed on the wall and traced from behind.

5. Lettering and sayings as a new wall design in the bedroom

Also what you shouldn’t do shouldn’t go unmentioned. Because one can definitely doubt whether writing and sayings on the wall are really a creative idea. Many sayings á la “ Carpe Diem ”, “Life is beautiful when you love” or a “kingdom of dreams” directly above the bed have a long, now very gray beard and are simply dead boring. 6. Creative wall design in the bedroom with photos

It’s cooler with your own photos. They are a real eye-catcher in picture frames (many different ones, too) and ensure a very personal atmosphere. If you have already distributed picture frames everywhere else in the apartment and are looking for a change in the bedroom, the following two ideas may not be wrong:

Similar to a wall sticker, you paint a large tree on the wall. Drawn cords hang from the numerous branches, to which a photo is attached below. It can look something like this.

A second variant is an oversized dandelion that is being blown and whose flying seeds hang individual photos at the bottom. It’s already finished and just needs to be put on the wall in the bedroom. If you want to do it yourself, you need skill and patience with the filigree shapes.

7. Wall cladding made of old wood

If you want to feel comfortable in a rustic bedroom, you can also build your own wall cladding out of old wood. Especially behind the bed, this can really be an eye-catcher.

First you get old boards for it, pick off excess old paint and repaint it according to your own wishes. A somewhat worn-out paint creates a rustic face. Then the boards are placed on the wall, often offset a bit so as not to appear too monotonous. Two beams on which the boards are screwed are recommended as a base. This not only saves drill holes, but also enables exciting background lighting by installing LED light strips behind the cladding.

8. Half-height wooden panels as a new wall design in the bedroom
