Every year, manufacturers and designers present new brands and home decor trends at the international design fairs in Paris, Milan and Copenhagen. What sets the tone this season? Which materials dominate in our facility? What stays, what goes? Our Head of Buying was out and about at the furniture fairs and tells you the current trends and her favorite interior pieces for 2024 – directly for re-styling and post-shop.
Furnish in the style of the golden 20s
A feeling of extravagance and glamour: create a sophisticated atmosphere with the Art Déco living trend and bring some glamor into your home. In 2024, the Art Deco furnishing style will be interpreted in a modern way: Geometric patterns, clear colors and shiny materials such as chrome, marble and glass. We will show you how you can best integrate the living trend.
Glamor comes in the form of gold accents
In order to underline the atmosphere of your apartment or house and to create a relaxed attitude to life in your own four walls, it is best to opt for clear colours. Modern pastel shades such as mint green and old rose become the highlight and not only give your interior a stylish twist, they remind us of Paris in the 20s and 30s. As a contrast to bonobon tones, use soft, cool colours: upholstered furniture covered in petrol, rosehip red or moss green, which is decorated with velvet cushions – the colors look particularly elegant in combination with golden home accessories.
Art Deco – style the living trend 2024 correctly
The Art Deco trend impresses with its opulent style, but also ensures elegance. That’s why it looks particularly good in combination with a reduced, monochrome interior. Coffee tables with a marble look, textiles with geometric patterns or golden home accessories such as lamps and decorative elements ensure that certain something in your living space – without appearing kitschy or overloaded.
Soft, cool tones such as petrol, moss green and rosehip red are mixed with neutral cream colors. An optimistic orange and a strong yellow in all shades will also dominate in our homes in 2024 and provide a refreshing kick of colour. Shiny materials like brass, chrome and marble contrast with velvet fabrics and dark wood furniture.
- Shades of blue like teal and aqua
- Cream, white & greige
- Optimistic colors like orange, yellow and red
- Shades of pink and rose
- Black and white as a contrast
- brass and chrome
- dark wood
This season, colored glass plays a major role and creates a good mood in your living space. Soft candy colors and bright orange, stripes or dots: Glass now shows itself in all facets of the rainbow and in the form of a wide variety of interior accessories. Handcrafted drinking glasses become eye-catchers on the table, and they are best combined with muted colors to create a beautiful contrast.
This is how the “hygge” living trend gets an upgrade
Nature was a source of inspiration for many furnishing styles last year. Scandi Style, Japandi and Slow Living will also accompany us in 2024 and ensure Nordic serenity within our four walls. If you ask our living expert Linda, it is also illustrated in the color trends that bring more calm into our living spaces. In addition to soft natural tones, another color dominated the home decor trends 2024 at the Design Week in Copenhagen: a bright blue.
Delicate natural tones are still the leading living trend
Beige and cream tones, pearl white, cappuccino or greige – the color code in 2024 is natural and reserved. For more harmony and well-being in your home, add natural raw materials such as wood, linen or cork. In combination with soft colors you create a place of retreat to recharge your batteries. The design is rounded off by cuddly skins, carpets and cushions. When it comes to home accessories, you are welcome to show a little more courage when it comes to color by integrating soothing shades of blue into your home.
Organic shapes create a harmonious aesthetic in your interior
Sensual, stylish and clean: home accessories and furniture with organic shapes create a relaxed and calming effect. Whether an oval mirror, a round carpet or sweeping bowls and vases – mixed with neutral cream colors and soft natural tones, we will find many organic shapes in our furnishings in 2024.
Organic shapes will dominate our homes in 2024 and can be found everywhere, whether as artwork on the walls, sofas or lighting.
Retro-inspired pop art pieces and sculptural silhouettes: 2024 statement lights with a strong character create a homely atmosphere and provide an inviting warmth. LED table lamps are becoming even more valuable and provide an atmospheric light source. Discover which lighting trends are coming in 2024 and which models will keep you up-to-date.
With large, eye-catching lamps and organic shapes, your 2024 lamp will become a statement piece. In addition to muted colors such as black and white, chrome-colored lamps are popular and make your room look elegant and exclusive. Furthermore, the trend color orange remains and conveys a cozy atmosphere. Are you unsure whether color goes with your interior? Our living expert favorite pieces include mobile LED lights in trendy orange and pink. Due to their flexibility and portable functionality, the small table lamps can be placed throughout the house or in your apartment.
Not only dominating colors can be found in our apartments next season, graphic patterns also give our rooms a new style. Stripes, checks and diamonds are back – and are among the top home decor trends of 2024!
In addition to organic shapes, block stripes in a wide variety of colors will conquer our homes: on upholstery fabrics, wallpaper and blankets. But check patterns are also among the trend patterns in our facility for the coming season. In the discreet combination of black and white or cream, the pattern also impresses in reserved furnishing professionals. If you prefer it stronger, go for black with color.
